First Contact

The U.S.S. Enterprise E and it's crew are sent as Ambassadors of the Federation to greet a new Empire that has recently entered into Federation space. Though upon witnessing the massive ships and unknown types of weapons and technology this unknown Empire has brought with them, Captain Picard realizes that they most very likely are not here for peace.

He watches as a shuttle, escorted by two fighter crafts due to the importance of the occupant aboard, approaches. Though that doesn't bother him nearly as much as the thought of what he would say or what he could do if they decide to attack. The scans of their technology is completely unknown and alien. 

He keeps the ship on Yellow Alert for the time being. Posting extra security officers on duty around the ship before he heads to the shuttle bay to greet their esteemed Emperor, Palpatine.

This is something I've been working on that has mostly just been an idea bouncing around in my head for quite a while, just didn't know exactly how I would actually do it. I went through more than several designs and was not happy with any of them until I came up with this one. 

While working on it, I came up with that description/synopsis for it. Just seemed to fit and make it more of a level playing field kind of encounter. I prefer than over the "one side will crush the other" and get that debate started. I don't think at all that either side here would win easily.. It would be a long, drawn out war that would leave both sides ravaged. Both sides have advantages and disadvantages. So clearly stating a winner is not as easy as some would make it out to be. 

And this is just the initial space battle... Once the ground war begins, then a WHOLE different set of circumstances would have to be considered.
